oft contact lenses are an effective way to help children see better in the classroom and for sports activities. With daily disposable contacts the risk of infection and serious injury to the eye is very low, even in kids. A new soft contact lens with near focus in the outer portion, similar to a bifocal, is used to help slow the growth of a child’s eye during their development. This lens causes a portion of the retina to see an image differently than the center of the vision, therefore sending a signal to stop growing. This lens is a very effective way to not only help a child see better, but also slow their eye growth.
